As the school starts a new academic year, Covenant University Pro-Chancellor Pastor (Mrs.) Faith Oyedepo has challenged staff and faculty to maintain quality and spirituality.
As the university begins a new academic year, Pastor (Mrs.) Faith Oyedepo, Pro-Chancellor of Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State, has charged professors and staff to maintain the highest levels of quality service delivery.
She made the charge while speaking to staff members at the University Chapel’s recent Resumption Assembly.
Oyedepo, who spoke on the topic of “Setting the Pace for a Year of Excellence,” emphasized the importance of starting the school year strong and continuing to be excellent in all areas of responsibility.
Drawing on Romans 8:6 to emphasize that true excellence is rooted in spiritual consciousness rather than dependence on the flesh, which could result in compromise and corruption, she emphasized the crucial role that spirituality plays in attaining lasting greatness.
She said it was intentional and strategic to place spirituality at the center of Covenant University’s Seven Core Values. Noting that such discipline allows greatness to permeate every endeavor, she urged teachers and staff to maintain their spiritual commitments via consistent interaction with God’s Word.
Oyedepo also considered the Chancellor’s early spiritual development, pointing out that his early devotion to Christ set the stage for his long-lasting influence as a mentor.
She continued, “Mentoring students becomes more effective and divinely supported when faculty and staff embrace similar values.”
She urged staff members to make themselves available for God’s use in developing future leaders, describing them as destiny molders entrusted with producing a revolutionary generation capable of changing society.
