Military Taken Aback by Alleged Attempted Coup Against President Tinubu – Retired General

Brig-Gen. Sani Kukasheka-Usman, Rtd, a former director of Army Public Relations, claims that the military was shocked by the coup attempt against President Bola Tinubu.

According to Usman, the military now recognizes how critical it is to align with Nigerian society.

He said that the military has undergone a 15-year transition during an appearance on Arise Television.

The subtleties of democracy, so to speak, and after going through that, we have, of course, enjoyed continuous democratic governance for the past 26 years.

“I’m not speaking for the military or society, but I believe the problem has been put to rest because they were both shocked.

“The Director of Defense Information recently made a statement, I believe yesterday, in which he mentioned their October announcement and stated that it is an update about the subject, giving a renewed understanding.

They discussed acts of indiscipline, overthrow discipline, violations of service norms, and, of course, attempts to overthrow democratic governance after conducting an investigation and, without a doubt, establishing their facts.

“So naturally, I believe they now understand to be on the same page with Nigerian society, because the more enlightened people are, the easier it is for them to be governed because they will comprehend and even participate in the, you know, governing process,” he stated.
