Aminu Tambuwal, a senator from Sokoto South, has stated that former vice president Atiku Abubakar, former presidential candidate Peter Obi, and former minister Rotimi Amaechi will back the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate.
Tambuwal made the statement in response to former Ekiti State governor Ayodele Fayose’s assertion that Obi is the life of ADC.
The former governor stated, “I have been part of the coalition and there is the possibility of transitioning to ADC,” during an appearance on Arise Television’s Prime Time. To get to a decision on that, I’m speaking with our Sokoto stakeholders as well as other stakeholders nationwide.
But, as I have already stated and continue to maintain, I do not participate in disputes with Ayo Fayose.
“I think that the ADC leadership has decided to hold a very transparent primary election from the very beginning, based on what we have been talking about, and if that happens, all of us in the coalition will support that candidate.
“We will all support Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Rotimi Amaechi. I have been playing a significant role in the coalition, and it would be too insensitive for me to come out right now and say vote based on this or that.”
