After fighting liver disease, the diminutive Nollywood actress Ajara Lasisi, also referred to as Aunty Ajara, passed away.
The movie diva was reportedly in critical condition, and her coworkers, including Wunmi Toriola, Foluke Daramola, Mama Nonetwork, and many others, had been asking the public for money to help pay for her care.
Nollywood actor TeeMony revealed Aunty Ajara’s death in an Instagram post on Thursday.
He conveyed gratitude to everyone who had loved the dead and prayed for her during her illness.
“We regret to inform you of the passing of our beloved actress, Aunty Ajara,” the message said. After a long and valiant fight with sickness, she died overnight.
“Ajara received a great deal of love, prayers, and financial help from many people all across the world during this trying time. We sincerely thank everyone who supported her with prayers, gifts, words of wisdom, and kindness.
We respectfully request that family, friends, and the general public cease transferring funds to the previously shared account as it is no longer necessary.
“Her family, loved ones, and everyone else mourning this terrible loss are in our thoughts and prayers. May she rest in eternal peace.
